Pebbles

Description

Pebbles on the beach, sometimes they form the most beautiful patterns. For me, a circle is a symbol of connectedness and at the same time a symbol of freedom. Being together, but also having the freedom to be alone. A pebble is beautiful on its own, but to be able to form a beach, the presence of other pebbles is essential.

All in all, 2017 was a creative year for me, the year in which my own style became increasingly clear to me. With this work Pebbles I painted several circles together on a canvas for the first time, after I made a painting with one circle earlier that year. Since then I have created several paintings with circles, small and large and I suspect that the circle is here to stay in my work. With lots of tiny dots.

Why do I love dots and circles so much? Maybe because no circle, no dot is perfect and it doesn’t have to be.

In 2018 it inspired me to create a new work: Connection. This time with different colours and a bigger size.
