There is no sky more beautiful than a sky filled with stars. Imagine a beautiful night without clouds, with clearly visible stars. At least if you are lucky enough to be in a place where there is not too much light pollution. When darkness falls, you spot a single star at first, but the longer you look, the more stars you can see with the naked eye.
In 1998 my partner and I drove a Toyota Land Cruiser from Cairns to the northernmost point of Australia, in Cape York. During this trip we spent most nights in our rooftop tent. And at all of the camp sites the lights literally went out in the evening. The best skies we ever saw.
