Blue Candy

Description

Blue Candy, because obviously the tiny dots remind me of candy. You know, the multi colour coated mini chocolates. I know them as Smarties and I painted them on a deliciously blue background. The thing with this painting was finding room for new dots, again and again. And every time I thought I could not place any more dots, I was wrong. I finished the canvas eventually by filling the tiny spaces between the coloured dots with extra tiny white dots. And then I had some chocolate.

The coloured dots were painted with a special paint called blob paint and the thing I love about this paint is that once the paint has dried, the dots will keep their rounded shape. And when you touch the dots, they feel very soft, because of their smoothness. The sides, 4.5 cm high, are painted completely blue, without dots.
