Lights in the Christmas tree, that’s what this painting reminds me of. At the end of 2018 I started to paint a background with dark green and gold and with the intention to pursue an idea I had while creating an earlier mini painting. Large dots, small dots and lots of lines. But his time there would be no tilted lines, just straight lines.
The lines became vertical ones. Due to the use of colours with the large dots, the painting was quickly renamed ‘the Christmas tree’ by my daughter. Obviously, because the large dots were so reminiscent of Christmas lights. And once your mind had made that connection, it cannot be unmade. 😉
A few months later I completed an even larger painting inspired by this painting. Still in winter style, but very different.
